We have a variety of needs at events as well as between events. Many require only a basic orientation. Others may involve some training. Onsite Team members must sign a waiver, and complete their own background screening, which will include signing consent forms prior to the screening. Volunteers will have the option to pay all or make a contribution to the cost of the background check. Volunteers will receive a copy of their screening report. The background check will include monthly re-checks for one year.
Volunteer Positions:
- Remote/Offsite Volunteer: Help with activities behind the scenes such as organizing materials, helping with administrative or computer tasks. This does NOT involve directly working with youth or dogs in programs.
- Program Leader/Onsite Coordinator: Lead programs with youth and dogs at various facilities (such as schools, park districts, community group facilities). Work with onsite volunteers who assist you in the programs.
- Onsite Volunteer: Assist Program Leaders, coordinators, and/or staff in youth programs, or at events such as informational booths/tables, or fundraising events. Involves working with both youth and dogs.
Steps:
- Fill out Volunteer Interest Form (below).
- Read and sign the participation Waiver & Release Form. If you are a minor (under 18), your parent or legal guardian must sign on your behalf.
- Fill out the consent forms and complete background screening, which will be sent to you by link or email invite.
